What are the factors affecting the service life of solar street lamps?

Mar 03, 2023

1. Quality and type of light source: Different types of light sources for solar street lights will affect the service life of solar street lights. At present, the most commonly used solar street lamps are LED lamps and energy-saving lamps. In terms of service life, LED lights have great advantages, and the service life can exceed 50,000 hours. In addition, the product quality of solar streetlights also determines the service life of the light source.

2. Controller: The controller is the core component of solar streetlights. The controller can not only protect the photocell components but also effectively control the working state of the battery, which plays a key role in the entire solar street light system. Moreover, the controller also has the function of protecting the load, which can provide an effective and relatively stable working environment for solar streetlights. Therefore, for solar street lights, a controller with reliable quality can greatly prolong the service life of solar street lights.

3. Batteries: The batteries used in solar streetlights are generally divided into colloidal batteries and lithium batteries. Although lithium batteries are more expensive than gel batteries, lithium batteries have a longer service life. Generally speaking, the service life of gel batteries does not exceed 4 years at most, while the minimum service life of lithium batteries is 5 years. Short battery life is the root cause of solar streetlights not working.

What should be paid attention to when installing solar street lamps?

Before officially installing street lights, carefully observe the surrounding environment, choose an open environment, avoid touching trees, billboards, buildings, etc., and take safety measures during installation. First of all, before lifting the light pole, it is necessary to check whether the fasteners in each part are firm. Secondly, check whether the lamp head is installed correctly and whether the light source is working properly. Then debug the system to see if the solar street light can work normally.

At the same time, we have to carefully observe the changes in the indicator lights on the controller, and when everything is normal, we can start the lifting installation. When lifting the main light pole, pay attention to safety precautions and fasten the screws. In addition, the solar street lamps should be lifted slowly to avoid scratching the solar cell module with the steel wire rope of the crane. During the lifting process, when the solar street light is completely off the ground or completely out of the load, at least two installers should clamp the flange with a large wrench to prevent the upper end of the light from being in contact with the crane due to the swing of the bottom during the lifting process. Rope friction, damage to the spray layer, etc. When the lamp is hoisted directly above the foundation, slowly lower the lamp, rotate the lamp pole at the same time, adjust the lamp head to face the road, and align the long holes on the flange with the anchor bolts.

Remove the lifting rope and check whether the solar cell module is facing south, otherwise adjust it. When adjusting the direction of the solar cell module, use the long drop device to send 1 or 2 installers to an appropriate height. The installer loosens the bolts fastening the upper light pole assembly one by one with a wrench, and then twists the upper light pole assembly based on the compass. Finally, tighten the fixing bolts of the upper light pole assembly one by one, and ensure that the bolts are evenly stressed.
